Joining Our Troop

Troop 253 has over 60 members of which 50+ are youth and the remainder are adults. Our youngest scout is 10.5 and our oldest is 17. The program is set for youth members between the ages of 10.5 and 17 years of age who wish to experience the great outdoors and learn life skills.

Want to become a new member?

Does scouting seems like a program that interests you? If it does, it is simple to join. We recommend that you attend one of our weekly meetings and see what our program is about. There will be no obligation to join and we will simply inform you about the specifics of joining this Boy Scout Troop.

You can simply show up and we will always be there. If possible though, please visit the Contact Us page and inform us of your visit so we can best help you.

The program is truly rewarding an beneficial for anyone interested in joining.

What if I'm an adult and I'd like to help?

Parents can be a great help to our program and are always welcome to attend our many activities. To us, "many hands make light work" and any bit of help will always be appreciated.

You have an option to be a volunteer and not be tied down to anything. Although, we would require you to be Youth Protection trained if this is your intention.

You can also take a larger responsibility role by becoming a troop adult leader. If this is the case, you would have to fill out an application and there would be a trial period before you are accepted to be part of our Leadership Team.
